
Rod
Dioso is working towards an MA in Digital Arts at Camberwell
College
in London, England. His thesis documents the visual
representation of
the Filipino community of London. He is exploring the parallels between
the fluidity
of transnational communities and the emerging new media of digital art.
He is a graduate of the Ontario
College of Art and Design (2000) and has
exhibited
in
Toronto, Montréal and
Tokyo. He is a 2007 recipient of the Ontario
Arts Council
Visual Artists: Emerging Grant. In 2006, he was
a
spotlight artist
for Toronto’s
MIX: a declaration of
creative
independence. In 2003, he was
shortlisted for the
Aoyama Design Award in Tokyo. He
currently resides in Canada, where he is
working on a series of digital collages that will document the Filipino
community
of Toronto.
