As an Asian-Canadian artist, cultural identitiy and its visual concepts
have always
interested me. From 2001 to 2005 I lived and travelled to over 10
countries on
the Asian continent. This series of works combines my photography of
the region
through digital layering techniques. The resulting distillation is a
multi-layered,
hyper-version of my travel images. The digital collages emphasize the
multiplcity
of layers in culture, history, and interpretations of Asian countries
as seen
by an Asian-Canadian.
