2007.02.20  Working Man in Paris

1

I just got a job in Paris
!  I’m currently teaching English as a corporate English teacher for the Wall Street
Institute. I sent resumes out last Monday, I was interviewed on the Tuesday and I started teaching on
Thursday of the same week.  I honestly didn’t expect to find work so soon.  Admittedly, I was a touch
disappointed as I was enjoying exploring the city, taking pictures, and going for jogs in the nice weather.

I can’t really complain.  The work is easy and I’m at it for only 3 hours a day (so far).  The job pays
enough to afford us some out-of-country travel and there is a novelty in waking up in the morning and
heading off to work with corporate Paris (it helps that I head home after lunch). I do one-on-one sessions
with big-spending clients who don’t speak much English and buy me cafés au lait and lunches
on occasion.

The pics on this page were taken the day of my interview on Feb 9/07 when I officially changed from
“Rod the accidental tourist in Paris
who doesn’t speak French” to “Rod the working man in Paris who
still doesn’t speak French”.
