We never would have launched this site without the help, love and support
of so many.
We want to give thanks and dedication to some special people:
moms and pops x 2= tirelessly concerned about our well-being
(though always neglecting their own emotional and physical health);
for teaching us (in no particular order) to fight, go down gracefully
and to get back up with a vengeance. For all the little things
like fast food dinners when we were kids, being there for graduations,
talking about us incessantly to the rellies or anyone who would listen
(it eventually gets back to us), and especially for supporting us
in our crazy decision to live as aliens an ocean away...
Joanne Patricia Desrochers (1949-1998) is an angel I carry with me
wherever I go on this relatively tiny earth...
Anne and Dave and Rachel (sister bear)= most loyal with correspondence
across the great divide. We actually had a letter waiting in
our mailbox
on the first day that we got to our apartment! So stabilizing
and life-sustaining
on those days when Japan seems like another galaxy...
the Japanese governnment= created the JET Programme which enables burgeoning
artisans
like ourselves to walk around the country disguised as ESL teachers
while we hovel up
in various states of scribble on our (abundant) time off...
OCAD=
first time I realized that art was actually possible (though only profitable
when pimped off through advertising). Still, met tons of inspiring
people, like:

Chan, that whack kid who cranks out art like it's CO2, may the
force be with you.
Caitlin
Fisher= an inspiring artzy theorist; definitely
a cool York
U professor. In the world of academe,
that so often looks to reduce and cut out, she
just keeps building it bigger. Much respect.
FoolWithWit=
for showing us that people still put the arse on the line...
mass emails dissing the corporate sell-out/pretentious
bollocks that's around us like quicksand...
gave us the gumption to go ahead and publish
our own sublime creation...

Friends and fam from all global hemispheres= many
couldn't care less about the internet
and our addiction to it, but we know they're
always waiting for our physical selves with warm arms.
To start naming would surely mean that we would
leave people out. We trust you know who you are.
