Back in Canada.  First impressions on being back (in no particular order):
it’s cold here (even though it’s summer), there are so many trees but they’re
all short, lots of small animals (squirrels, dead raccoon on the road),
everything looks so spacious and spread out, buildings are shorter,
diet is already low-carb yet low-carb diets are in (in Japan,
the diet is like 70% carb and most people are slim), so much
food everywhere, everyone’s always eating.  I think I’ll have more
energy here than I did in Japan (once I get over jet lag) as the food
is more varied and nutritious, if you avoid the fat trap, furniture here
is wood not plastic, water runs strongly from the taps, the air is fresh
and clean, people are aggressive and quick to anger in public….
